Newborn vaccination and health screen

PKU and Congenital Hypothyroidism can result in your baby having severe intellectual disability.

PKU is a birth defect that causes an amino acid called phenylalanine to build up in the body. Untreated, phenylketonuria can lead to brain damage, intellectual disabilities, behavioral symptoms, or seizures(epilepsy)

  1. Thank you for dropping this info again, I can now understand how and why majority of the northern children have leprosy. I also remembered my sister’s neighbor a Muslim woman, after giving birth the her son, I noticed she don’t go for Vacines, when i inquire of why she does not partake in the immunization, she gave a careless reason, when the child is about walking I notice some deformity on his legs. Not walking normally, .maybe that could be the cause. Waooo thanks am glad to know all this from you ma.

  5. Thanks so much for these very useful health information ma. God bless you for always.

But in many hospitals in Nigeria here, they don’t screen for sickle cell disease early enough, on till the baby is up to 2 years old. That’s what they did for my daughter.
